IT IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A BADGER!
It takes stress and strain to create toughness. We are training to create toughness. This toughness will lead to great things in the fall.
The junior high football players are getting after it right now. Yesterday’s workout was solid. 47 players were at the workout on Tuesday for the junior high. Most of the players were extremely sore after the first day. This means one thing, their bodies are adapting to a new level of strength and conditioning.
Varsity workout was great as well. Right now our senior high team is going through what could be equated to NFL mini-camp. We had a 2 a day yesterday with a workout in the morning, then a team camp in the evening. The junior high will have their team camp thursday night in Malvern. The team camp was outstanding for our football team. Even though we did not get as many reps on either side of the ball that we wanted, we had a great showing. Five different players scored offensively and the defense was VVR and 9-5-9. I believe that we are in a great starting spot right now. We have many improvements to make as we move forward through the rest of July, but it is a joy going to work every day to make those improvements with our coaches and players.
Today, the focus will be on Flexibility, Recovery, and Aerobic conditioning and Film.
Thursday the focus will be on explosion.
Friday, the 7th graders will have their skills assessment and introduction to the program from 8-10am.
